Tips to Grow Your Business

Your business has not been growing as you expected!

It seems like the whole idea of starting a business was not meant for you. Maybe you just picked up the business idea somewhere on the internet not having a solid reason for starting the business.

You have started your business with the hope of achieving your dream.

But now, your business is falling backwards rather than forward.

This happens sometimes for many reasons.

The entrepreneurship journey is not as easy as you thought.

It comes with loads of ups and downs.

But it is never beyond what you can solve.

All you need is to think and solve.

I have 7 amazing tips that can help you grow your business.

These 7 tips will help you turn your business around and push it up to where you want it to be.

But the truth is that you need to take action after reading this post.

1. Have a business plan

Who told you a business plan is only to get an investor interested in your business?

A business plan is more than a trap for an investor.

It is also a trap to make you interested in your business.

Funny, right!

You started your business with a goal.

And I am now telling you that you need to be interested in your business.

How stupid that sounds, right?

If you are not interested would you have started the business in the first instance?

Okay, calm down let me explain myself before hitting the back button.

Being interested in a different thing from starting a business.

When you start a business, the optimism and faith you had while starting that business are totally different now.

You started that in order to create something big.

But now you are in the midst of problems not knowing who to turn to and what step to take.

Believe it or not, you are a step from quitting the business.

That is where having a business plan comes in.

Your business plans detail what you plan to achieve in your business, your vision for your business etc.

If you have that then you can always go through it to remind yourself and to get fresh ideas.

Whenever I am facing some challenges in my business, I meditate on my business plan.

How foolish that might sound – but I do get fresh ideas and solutions when I do that simple thing.

So that can make a big difference in your business.

If you do not have a business plan, then think about having one today or better still, have your vision and mission written down in a book.

2. Create an Online Presence for your business

The internet is ever going and it is a place to expand your business beyond any geographical barrier.

You need an online presence for your business more than ever before.

Because that is where 80% transaction takes place.

You might be wondering:

Yes I have been thinking of this but I don’t think this local business really worth it?

Having a local business is not a reason not to go online.

Many business owners have revived their dying business just by going online and creating a presence online.

You can too if they can.

3. Nurture good relationship with your existing customer

Yes this is a post about getting new customers, but what is the use if after getting new customers you lose them to the competition?

And that would be a waste of time.

Now I had assumed you already have some customers that patronize you, why not nurture that relationship.

Nurturing your relationship with your existing customers can help you generate new customers through referrals from your existing customers.

And you know what?

Word of mouth from existing customers work faster than any form of getting new customers, because people need proof that your product is actually working.

So you can get that by building that perfect relationship with your customers.

Imagine a company you patronize take their time to send you a birthday text or went ahead to give you a birthday gift, how would you feel?

I know you will you some kind of special customer to them, right?

And one more thing I can hear you say “I will be glad to refer my friends to them”

It is the same thing that applies to all type of businesses.

Well you might not go to the extent of sending birthday texts, there are other ways to cultivate a healthy relationship with your customers.

And one of the best way is to have a good and friendly customer service system in place.

Industry events are where you find out about industry secrets that is well kept from you or that you are not aware of.

Wait not just that alone.

Industry events are a good place to build your professional circle and network with other professional in your industry.

And you can always ask them for advice.

5. Host Events

Hosting events are actually expensive and might not be advisable when just starting.

So when just starting your business, stick to attending industry events.

But as you grow and have enough resources to spare, you can consider hosting events. When you host event, invite industry leaders to your event.

Hosting event makes it easier to build relationship with others and it is also a way of proving your credibility.

While this might not work in all industries, you might need to research if it is worth it.

6. Stay up to date

Yes, the main reason behind all these is to stay up to date with industry news.

Every now and then there will always be new things in your industry, you must take your time to stay up to date.

You can do this by talking to your customers.

If you have an healthy relationship with your customers, your customers will be willing to tell you what your competitors are doing and what they think you should add or remove even before you ask them.
