Take Notes For Me: New Google Meet Update

Google Meet has started rolling out its new update with the Take Notes For Me and a picture-in-picture mode which lets users switch between apps while still using the app.

Select Google Workspace users will be provided with the AI-powered Take Notes For Me feature. This new tool allows Google Meet to take notes during user meetings. After the meeting commences, the notes will be clipped on the calendar event. Users and other participants in the meeting will be allowed access to these notes.

Take Notes For Me: More on this feature and picture-in-picture feature

Take Notes For Me makes it easier for users to concentrate on their meetings and presentations. It also makes sure that no important details during the meeting are left behind. Google has stated that the feature will only be available for meetings spoken in English as of now. Furthermore, the Take Notes For Me feature will only be limited to the desktop version on laptops and computers.

This AI-powered feature will be available for both admins and end users. Google Workspace customers who are subscribed to any of the following add-ons such as Gemini Enterprise, AI Meetings & Messaging, and Gemini Enterprise can access this new feature.

Another new feature that has been introduced is Google Meet’s picture-in-picture mode. Just like the other note-taking feature, this feature is currently only available in the desktop version of computers and laptops. The PiP feature lets users switch between apps seamlessly without exiting the Meet. When users are in the PiP mode, the meeting will play in a smaller window while users can continue using other apps in the background.

The new feature makes the navigation process much more smoother and convenient. It is helpful especially when users have to view documents relevant to the meeting and manual note-taking. Users will still be able to receive notifications from Google Meet even when this mode has been enabled.
