Apple Music introduced a new feature for its Artists allowing them to make playlists from their recent concerts through Set List.
Artists on Apple Music can allow their fans to relive their concerts, connecting them with their listeners. The artist’s image on Apple Music will be used as the cover art of the playlist. This new feature is a great promotional tactic for artists to connect with their fans, especially those fans who are unable to attend their concerts.
Artists should also connect their artist page to Bandsintown as it is the most convenient method to make the playlist. They will thus have to keep updating their Bandsintown account with their tour dates and upcoming shows. It may also be easier to set up the artist Set List in Apple Music if artists link their upcoming concerts to their artist’s page on Apple Maps, Shazam, and Spotlight Search.
Set List: How to create this playlist as an Apple Artist
The artist will have to go to the Artist Content and proceed to Artist Playlists. After which, users will be able to view all of their Set Lists available on the Apple Music artist page.
To use this new tool, artists have to click the (+) button that is next to the Artist Playlists. They can tap on the Create a Set List button to create a new Set List. The next step is to choose the kind of show they are creating the playlist for. A name for the event should also be added.
After the creation of the event, artists can then connect their Bandsintown account with their Shazam account. The artist will then have to set a publish date and the date should not be a day before the event. The last step is to choose the tracks to include in their playlist. Artists can create however many playlists they want depending on the number of shows they performed or will perform in the future. Playlists can also be hidden or removed from Apple Music.
