A user on the Samsung Community forum has alleged that a pair of Samsung Galaxy FE Buds exploded and this consequently caused hearing damage to the wearer.
Samsung is no stranger to cases like this. In 2016, the company was infamous for its exploding batteries in the Galaxy Note 7. Although Samsung called this a defect in the manufacturing process, the replacements offered still faced the same issue. This model had to be discontinued because of this recurrent problem. Samsung offered a deal for Galaxy Note 7 users to exchange their devices for the new Galaxy S8.
The user posted on the forum, that his girlfriend had borrowed the Samsung Galaxy FE. The buds were taken out of the box with a 36% charged battery. While wearing them, the buds suddenly burst in her ear. This resulted in permanent hearing loss. The user provided pictures of the damaged bud. After hearing the news of the bursting of Samsung buds, the company has denied that these buds can explode. However, Samsung has offered to give the affected account a new pair of new buds as a token of 'good faith'.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE were launched in 2023. These buds were priced at Rs 12,999 and also offered users premium sound quality and ANC inbuilt in the buds. The Buds FE is quite comfortable to wear and has an ergonomic fit. Available in two colours such as Graphite and Mystic White, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE comes with 30 hours of battery life.
