Project Amelia: Amazon's New AI Selling Assistant

Amazon has just introduced a new AI assistant for sellers called Project Amelia. This AI assistant will be available for sellers on Amazon and the beta version start rolling out in the US region.

Project Amelia was built on Amazon Bedrock. The company has been gradually building Amelia’s expertise to give sellers a more personalized and tailored response, even to more complex inquiries. Amazon states that the main objective of this AI assistant is to give its users more tools to help them take care of their businesses. The service also aims to expand and grow the seller’s business.

This new project by Amazon will act as an AI-powered expert and it is readily available for the sellers. Amazon sellers can ask the AI any questions and they will receive responses detailing helpful information with guidance to assist the sellers in ways they could better manage their business.

Project Amelia: Types of questions sellers can ask

The sellers can access this service through any of the pages contained within the Seller Central section. Sellers can ask Project Amelia questions regarding website traffic and customer sales. The AI assistant will provide the sellers with metrics showing the total units sold, website traffic and more. Furthermore, the AI also compares these metrics with the metrics of the previous year. The Amazon assistant can also be asked follow-up questions. Users can also ask AI about the growth or increase in sales of a specific product.

Amelia can also assist with resolving problems and issues. Users can be directed to Amazon support to assist with their unresolved issues. This AI assistant also personalises responses for the seller.

Amazon has a lot in store for its new AI assistant. The leading company expect to make Amelia offer more services. It will soon be able to provide sellers with “additional help” in taking care of a task. It will even ask to solve the issue on behalf of the seller. The service will also be expanded to other countries following its release in the US.
