Oura Ring 4: New Version of the Oura Ring Released

Oura has just released the latest Oura Ring 4 and it is receiving a major upgrade from its predecessor. The new launch has been priced at $349 and although it does not look all that different from the previous generation model, the new release has a few updates that make it stand out.

The ring’s build is made completely from titanium and it will be round throughout much like the models from Horizon. The ring’s sensors have also been designed to look flatter and overall more comfortable to view and wear. The older version of the ring’s sensors was shaped like a dome. The charging dock has also been revamped, but there is no case for the charger for the charging dock.

A huge update of the Oura Ring 4 comes from the software. Oura’s revamped algorithm has increased signal pathways from 8 to 18. This solves a problem that was once a nuisance in the Oura’s predecessors. To elaborate, since everyone’s fingers are of different sizes, the ring could potentially be misaligned as the day progresses. When sensors do not get the data from the most optimal position, this will ultimately result in data gaps.

The new algorithm also gives users a 120% signal quality increase and a 30% increase in blood oxygen tracking accuracy. The company has also stated gaps have been reduced during the daytime by 7 and night time heart rate readings by 31%. Battery life has also been extended to last up to 8 days.

Users will now be able to choose sizes from 4 to 15. The Oura app has also received a new redesign to make the amount of apps look less cluttered. The tech company will also be bringing in a new Daytime Stress metric. Other features relating to women’s fertility and activity detection have also been introduced.
