There are new Audible AI features that will aid in discovering new audiobooks and it will also bring about customised and personalised recommendations. These new features are currently in the experiment phase so it is only available to around 50% of the United States.
Audible is testing out a new feature called “Tags” which will help Audible’s AI go through customer reviews and thus explain how and why these listeners listened to a particular audiobook. Users can add little tags on the top of their titles. This feature reduces the amount of time a person has to spend searching for new audiobooks to read through this summarization tool. Audible is also testing out an AI-powered ‘topi page’ which allows users to find new audiobooks that they never heard of yet.
New Audible AI Features: The company’s shift towards AI
This Amazon company previously bought a new AI search feature called Maven just last month. This Audible assistant helped users by recommending new audiobooks based on their requests. It has been speculated that this new feature could be a response to the AI-generated playlists on Spotify. Audible is available for both Android and iOS devices.
A report states that Audible users are listening in on many audiobooks voiced by AI. This has sparked outrage from the creative community over concerns about AI taking over their jobs. And in this case, the fear of AI taking narration jobs for audiobooks.
The company even brought in narrators to use their voices to train their AI. However, Audible is not the only audiobook platform that uses AI. Apple is one such example and the company launched a new AI-driven audiobook narration. This feature was available only for some specific Apple Books.
