Microsoft has confirmed that it will be officially discontinuing the HoloLens 2. There has been no news from Microsoft on whether or not this discontinuation will have a replacement to follow.

The Microsoft headset was launched back in February 2019 so it's had a good 5 year run since. The headsets will be receiving security and software regression updates till 2027. However, the production of these headsets has been halted permanently. Furthermore, production for the HoloLens 1 also ended years ago. So the future of the HoloLens series is up in the air. According to reports, Microsoft has ditched plans to continue with the HoloLens 3. All hope for a new HoloLens may not be lost though, as Microsoft has alluded to potential future update plans.
