A new Google Maps updates has just been announced with features powered by Google’s own Gemini models. This AI-powered update aims to help people get answers to complex queries about the world.

Users will now be able to transform Maps to receive ideas on where to go next with the help of Gemini. They can also find out why people like going to a specific place with review summaries by Google’s AI. Google has stated that these features have been made possible with Gemini’s reasoning, summarisation, and creation abilities, which pull data from 250 million places globally. The AI also utilises insights from the Maps community. This new feature will be available for US users starting this week on both Android and iOS devices.

Google is also introducing another update to make driving less stressful. It will now be much easier to explore through routes before starting the journey. Users can receive directions and check out the top attractions, landmarks, dining options and more. Google Maps’ enhanced navigation will also show reports on weather disruptions that might affect their route.

Google Maps Updates: Immersive View Update by Google

Another upgrade from the new Google Maps Updates comes from Immersive View. Google has stated that Immersive View will now be expanded to 150 cities all over the world. These places include Kyoto, Brussels, and Frankfurt.

Immersive View is an excellent tool to experience what certain routes, stadiums, and parks would look like. This AI-powered feature also shows users the traffic and weather conditions on the day the users are travelling. With the new update, Google will also let users know where they can park and the AI will also inform users of any complex turns along the user’s route.
