CrowdStrike Falcon has caused a Microsoft outage affecting various sectors around the world with its new update. Microsoft Windows PCs all over the world are currently facing the ‘Blue Screen of Death’ and other technical errors.
The Microsoft outage has affected sectors such as IT, airlines, hospitals and more as PCs and other devices are being forced to restart or shut down. In many cases, users are experiencing the Blue Screen of Death, which is Microsoft’s indication of a system crash. Thus, devices showing this error screen have to be shut down immediately to avoid the risk of damage.
This Microsoft outage has been confirmed to be caused by CrowdStrike Falcon’s new update called the Falcon Sensor. In addition, George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike has issued an apology to customers. Furthermore, Kurtz has assured that this outage is an isolated incident and not a cyberattack or security breach. The company is also currently working alongside Microsoft to fix the issue.
It should be noted that the outage does not affect personal computers as the cybersecurity company does not offer retail devices.
