Carousel posts on Instagram have been increased to contain 20 photos or videos in one post. Previously, users were limited to 10 images or videos in one post.
With the updated item limit, Instagram users can improve their photo dumping game. This new feature is gradually being introduced to all users globally. The feature is available in both the iOS and Android versions of Instagram.
Tiktok, one of Instagram’s biggest competitors, lets users post up to 35 items in a single post. It is unclear whether the Meta-owned app will also follow in TikTok’s footsteps by increasing the limit of carousel posts.
Carousel Posts on Instagram and What it Means
Carousel posts on Instagram are essentially a ‘photo dump’ where users can swipe back and forth to view the videos and photos posted. This feature was officially introduced in 2017 so before carousel posts, users could only post one single item in a single post.
The Meta-owned app also enables users to pair music with the items in a post to make their posts more interesting.
Instagram has recently introduced a new feature called Muti-Audio Tracks on reels allowing users to pair around twenty tracks or songs to one reel. Various elements such as stickers, clips, and text can also be matched to the audio while editing.
