Active Guard Outdoor Protection: SimpliSafe's New Feature

SimpliSafe has announced a new feature to its monthly subscription plan called Active Guard Outdoor Protection. The new monitoring feature will only be available in the Outdoor Security Camera Series 2.

SimpliSafe’s new feature was announced earlier in 2024. This feature, available through the Outdoor Security Camera Series 2 also uses an AI-powered cloud to alarm call center agents when it senses threats on the user’s property. After the agent gets alerted, they will then be able to be given access to a live video through the user’s camera. The agent can either talk to the intruder or alert the police. Essentially, the agent assesses whether or not the potential intruder is a threat or not.

Active Gaurd Outdoor Protection has been available as a public beta since April 2024. Users can purchase this service at SimpliSafe’s official website. It is priced at $49.99 as a monthly subscription for 8 PM to 6 PM live monitoring. The service is also available as a 24/7 live monitoring but it is priced higher at $79.99 monthly. Users will also receive the company’s indoor live monitoring feature and the 24/7 alarm monitoring of the security sensors.

Active Guard Outdoor Protection: More on the Outdoor Camera 2

The Outdoor Camera 2, which is a huge upgrade from its predecessor, is priced at $199.99 and will be required to run this feature. This camera comes with upgraded audio and night vision. It also improved upon the processor of the first Outdoor Camera.

The camera operates on batteries and is equipped with a power cable. Users should note that the camera should be powered all the time for the Active Gaurd Outdoor Protection to work.
