A lot of businesses can benefit from hiring a professional photographer. When you come to think about it, your website, your content, and your e-store categories all depend on appropriate and quality images. Sure, investing in a professional camera and embarking on a photographer’s course is one way to approach the situation. Still, a DIY effort, no matter how extensive, cannot make up for the experience and specialized in-depth industry knowledge of a trained and seasoned photographer. Here are eight ways in which hiring the help of a professional photographer may elevate your business.

1. More compelling content

Even your written content needs to be enhanced with the use of professional photography. According to the majority of surveys, people prefer skimming to reading and adequate images make content easier to skim. This also enhances the content with visual stimulation, which is far more effective in a human cognitive system. Our brain receives visual information 60,000 times faster than verbal information. Keep in mind that content creation and image integration into your posts isn’t a one-time thing. It’s an integral part of your overall content marketing strategy.

2. Humanizing your business

One of the best ways to humanize your business is to make a great About Us page on your website. This way, your audience can learn a thing or two about your story and even see your team. Now, there are two things you need to do here. First, you might want to stage group photography, in a case where you’re not running a remote workplace. Second, you might want to upload some corporate headshots of your staff members. This way, your audience will be able to put the name to the face and see exactly who is behind the tasks that they entrust your company with. It’s that simple.

3. Improved categories

The categories in your e-commerce section greatly depend on your audience’s ability to visualize the actual product. Quality photography can greatly help with this task. The biggest downside of e-commerce, when compared to traditional retail, is the fact that people can’t check out the product in person. They can’t feel it in their hands and take a look at it from all sides. With high-resolution photography (preferably from all sides), you can give your audience an experience that is as close to this as possible. This is a scenario where stock images simply won’t do the trick.

4. Appropriate photography techniques

Every industry and every photography purpose requires a special technique to unlock its full potential. For instance, in the fashion industry, you want to use a ghost mannequin for displaying clothing pieces. This way, you can enhance the level of immersion that your potential buyers can get from observing the piece. There are different such techniques for different items and industries and you would do well to keep track of this. A professional photographer will provide you with a completely customizable approach to this.

5. Event promotion

To successfully promote an event, you need to hype it up. One of the ways to do so is to use professional photography for this task. You can display the venue that the event will take place in and even use some actual event photography for this task. Also, you want to take photos of the actual event, so that you can use this photography later on. Actual footage from the event can be reused for all sorts of later marketing efforts and campaigns. It is an opportunity that you can’t afford to miss out on, as well as a task that you will need to hire a photographer for.

6. Transferring your curb appeal

The next thing you need to understand is that your online presence greatly benefits from your brick & mortar curb appeal, as well. With the help of a skilled photographer, you can transfer this to your landing page. Just think about all the time and effort you’ve invested in the improvement of your brick & mortar headquarters. For your online customers, none of this matters. With the help of photography, you can use the image of your actual headquarters to gain some additional legitimacy.

7. VR and AR

One more thing worth mentioning is the importance of innovative visual content trends like VR/AR tours and 360-degree tours of the office/inspection of the product. The key thing here is that your audience gets an informative experience. You’re not there to impress you with the way you handle new technologies, you’re there to provide them with an immersive experience. They need to inspect the product from all sides and visualize what it would be like to use/own it. For this, the type of photography needs to be right, same as its quality.

8. Quality of image is a testament to your professionalism

The next thing you need to bear in mind is the fact that the quality of the image might be an indicator of the quality of work that you do. As a professional, you’re expected to have a professional website, quality content, and a responsive, as well as descriptive website. So, what happens if the images that you use in your content, on your landing page, or your product pages are of low resolution, pixelated, and, overall, low quality? This would speak volumes about the way you do business, as well. This way, hiring a professional photographer can be a PR improvement.

In conclusion

A professional photographer, like any other professional, is there to elevate the quality of your work. The quality of images that you use has a direct impact on your reputation, conversions, and even your bottom line. The key thing is that you understand that images generate value and that by neglecting them, you’re losing on the potential opportunity for growth. The image of your company is in direct correlation with the images that you use. So, in the same way, in which you would hire a lawyer or accountant, you might want to consider hiring a professional photographer.
