Web Hosting for a Blog

Are you planning to launch a new blog and make money?

If yes, then you are in need of a reliable web hosting service along with good development, designing and user-interface.

Choosing the right web hosting platform can be very tough for beginners as there are numerous hosting providers and they also offer different packages- making it more confusing.

Don’t worry, in this article; we will give you five simple tips that will surely help you to pick the best web host for your blog.

Find the following features in your web hosting provider

Good Uptime (Availability):

Uptime is a technical term in the hosting industry for reliability. In other words, good uptime guarantees that your blog site will stay available for users day and night continuously without any interruption.

Look for a web host that can provide 100% uptime. However, the industry standard for Uptime is 99.5% as sometimes downtime for maintenance is normal.

For 100% availability, you may choose the company that provides cloud-based hosting.

Good availability (uptime) not only helps your blog to build a strong reputation among your readers but also helps you to generate a decent income out of your blog.

Good Disk Space With Enough Bandwidth Limit:

The amount of disk space your blog will need depends entirely on your personal requirements. If you want to run a blog that will be collecting high-quality videos, pictures, powerful applications or huge data, you may require enough disk space.

Always determine your disk space requirements in advance and choose to host accordingly.

Along with space, you must assess bandwidth demand of your blog. If you blog contains large media files, heavy content, you may need a lot of bandwidth.

So it is important to check with the disk space and bandwidth limit of your hosting provider.

Customer Support:-

Being able to get good and reliable customer support is very important, especially for newbies.

It is very important; you choose a hosting provider that commits to provide 24/7 customer support as a problem can occur anytime when managing a blog site.

Also check what type of customer support system is accessible to you such as ticket support, live chat, phone support, etc.

Security:-

Nowadays, web security is becoming more and more important. And your choice of hosting provider can make a big difference to how strongly your site is protected.

Invest in a hosting provider that provides strong firewalls, intrusion protection and security against malware and similar malicious software.

Besides this, your hosting plan must include backup service so in the case if your blog is taken offline, you can restore it easily straight away.

Moreover, if you run a blog that takes personal information or payment from customers, then it is important to have an SSL certificate. Make sure your web host is providing you the same.

As Google also warns visitors to use websites which are not secured. Therefore, don’t go with a web host that does not provide robust security in this age.

Access to Control Panel:

It is another very important point you should keep in mind when choosing a reliable web host. Make sure your hosting provider offers you access to control panel.

Control panel is a place, from where you can manage your website and server. You can easily make changes to your site, install new software and add new features.

Moreover, you can also upgrade your account directly from here whenever needed.

Hopefully, now you have a much clearer picture of what you need to look for when choosing a hosting provider. So be careful while choosing the web hosting and go through every point mentioned above and pick the provider that suits you best. Hosting.review is also one of the better places to check web hosts’ reliability before making your final decision.

  4. Hey Robin!

If you want to build a successful blog online then you must choose the right hosting plan. It is very important that you learn more about hosting plans and learn how important it is to choose one that will cover all of your blog’s needs.

I wouldn’t recommend a shared hosting plan – unless you really can’t afford a managed wordpress plan. I personally use a managed hosting service called WPX Hosting.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Cheers! 😀

  5. Hi Robin,
Glad to be here after a while! 🙂
Great tips shared for a newbies to select a good hosting platform thru this post.. No doubt its a must read to all.
I tried several platforms in the recent past and I had some worst experience too with some platforms like bluehost etc. They promise one and give something else. We need to check well with experienced people or read their reliable reviews. But sad to note that some write well praised reviews to get some affiliate commission. In such case we need to cross check with different forums and groups.
After facing problems with bluehost I shifted to A2Hosting after checking with few reliable people and they are giving a great service and I have written a review too in this regard on my page.
Anyways thanks for sharing this alert.
    Keep sharing
    Best
